pictures from our day in DC

before posting these pictures I have to say that I have ALWAYS wanted to visit Washington DC. I am a US History nut. It was my favorite High School class and I have tons of useless knowledge stored in my head from the hours of shows I have watched, books I have read, etc about this history. One of the things that fascinates me most about the US is Government, and so it was only natural that I would want to visit our country's government home :)

Our first stop was the Capitol building-
Then we walked to the Lincoln Memorial

and then to the Washington Monument (love this picture taken from the base of the monument)

and then we ended our walking tour with The White House (this is as close as we could get, and the picture was taken with a zoom lens so we went really that close)

I LOVED our day in Washington DC, and I love my husband for correctly knowing that this is exactly what I would want to do for our day together to celebrate our anniversary, and I love my brother in law and sister in law for taking the girls for the day for us :)
